WHY A PRIVATE JUNK ?

Of all the ways to visit Halong Bay, a private junk is by far the best for many reasons:

- You are the only passengers on board;

- Smaller than collective junks, a private junk sails on channels of nices Lan Ha bay (Halong bay complex) not accessible to larger ones and stop you on isolated beaches which the larger ones cannot approach;

- Private junks are allowed to spend the night in a small quiet bay selected by the Captain, when collective ones must all stay in the same large bay;

- Better service and food.

Oriental Bridge Travel is the happy owner of its two-cabin private junk, Oriental Sun. The fact that we own her presents enormous advantages: The fact that we own her presents another enormous advantage compared with junks sublet from their owners by agencies: as sole owners, we are in complete control of the quality of the onboard services and of the maintenance (in addition to the regular checkings, Oriental Sun is taken to a shipyard and completely inspected once a year).

We propose to you cruises from 2 to 4 days, as well as a sensational programme: A 2 to 3-day cruise on Oriental Sun, combined with a one or 2-day stay in the magic "Halong Bay on Land" of Ninh Binh (Tam Coc).

THE JUNK ORIENTAL SUN

An ancient 22-meter fishing junk, she has a very rare particularity: she has two real sails, which allows her cruising without engine, weather permitting, whereas most other junks have decorating sails. Even more environmentally friendly, she has a system of treatment of used waters before they are rejected in the sea.

Oriental Sun has been entirely redecorated in June 2011. She counts two 15-m² cabins, one double and one twin, each with its own bathroom, an open lounge-dining room on the stern deck, and a bow sun deck large enough to sleep « under the stars » if you wish. Meals are feasts of sea food bought in the fishing villages we visit, a guarantee of its perfect freshness, and prepared by a true Cordon Bleu sailor.

Important remark: Oriental Sun has 2 cabins, but, if you are only 2, we do not take other passengers on board and the junk is only for you

THE TRANSFERS FROM HA NOI TO CAT BA ISLAND (HALONG BAY)

Oriental Sun starts from Cat Ba island. To reach to Cat Ba island from Ha Noi, you have the choice between 2 solutions: private car or local bus, total time is 3h30- 4 hours:

Departure from your Ha Noi hotel around 7 AM and transfer to Hai Phong on highway about 2 hours (including 15 minutes for rest stop).

A ferry for 12 minutes (or 4 minute by speedboat) to cross the sea to Cat Ba island, 30 minutes driver to CatBa town

Return by the same means.
